The explosion from the gas station could still be seen for miles in the rear view mirror of the jeep, Charlie would look back on occasion just from the distraction of the orangish light that flickered in the mirror. Before they left Teacher and Charlie argued on who would drive, Charlie gave the argument that the coming morning would be his final day and that he deserved to drive, Teacher couldn’t argue with that. On a side note Charlie had finally met Aeros and didn’t know what to think, in his mind it was just a damn bird; a very large bird mind you but still just a bird. The way Teacher talked about Aeros Charlie thought for sure it was some big fella flying some sort of winged contraption, how in blazes was a bird going to assist in taking down the gas station; Teacher talked as if Aeros would fly in and save the day. By what Charlie witnessed Teacher didn’t need any help taking down the Law soldiers at the station let alone from a bird. What was Aeros going to do? Squawk the whole time and land bird droppings on the soldiers faces? Charlie laughed at this idea a thin lined smile came to his face. He’d been driving all night allowing Teacher to get much needed sleep. The road curved to the right then circled around in a direction where Charlie saw the sun slowly rising. “Beautiful…” He said with a smile. This was his final day according to the Law assassin. This was how he wanted to end it, on the road feeling at peace with himself. It was funny how he ended up back at the gas station that was the start of all this mess, and now with the help of Teacher he was able to destroy that part of his history; it was a way to come to terms with himself and make that final peace. Charlie just kept staring at the sun it rose slowly his eyes stayed fixed on the glowing orb, his smile was the biggest that he’d ever had in his life, or the end of it anyway…

Charlie started blinking then he realized very quickly that his vision was gone after blinking had no effect or the glasses he was wearing to bring back his sight. “Oh no…” He said, the smile wiped from his face. Exhaling softly he breathed out never to breath in again. Charlie’s lifeless body heavily leaned forward onto the wheel causing it to turn sharply. The jeep went into a violent roll…
